Better Late than Never

A reminder to all top 20 country country participants.

You are cordinally invite to gather outside the PE Dept. in the morning tomorrow at 0700hours sharp. Actions taken against latecoming invited guests would be the promise that them turning up is a waste of time.

Well, for that formal effect. Anyway, this post goes out to the class as well. To those who had clinched the top 20, remember to gather, we rather not spend money going to queensway to make ourselves one nice medal or trophy, though we can.

4/3 are the champions. WE are the champions.

4/3 Class Gathering - My Thoughts

Personally, I was thinking of a class chalet to be the best answer. Maybe like 2 or 3 days out together at a chalet or something. Singapore is small, so it obviously has to be Pasir Ris or East Coast, depending on class preference. That part is not difficult, maybe money problems, but other than that, shouldn't be problem to set up.

I think quite a lot of people will want to stay, but we can't guarantee anything. So on this part, we should get a class poll and see who is willing and just accommodate to those people. For the rest, they can like choose to come in the days or a day, or like for the barbeque night or something. I'd rather it not be compulsory, because then some people might not like it, and thus its purpose would be defeated.

However, it would still be better if the conditions fitted the majority, so that more people can enjoy it and not just a particular group. So maybe we should see what the class wants after all.

If there is a committee set up on this, I would be most welcome to be part of it and offer my help as much as possible.

4/3 Class Gathering

Before we decide it is a BBQ or Chalet, let's decide the date!

Then we can see who's able to go, and who can continue to stay on if it's a chalet.
Then we decide venue, then calculate cost, organise activities, plan this plan that blah blah.

Haikal, if it's a chalet, surely one of the events we'll find in there is a BBQ nite, isn't it?

I'm ok with anything, but preferably chalet, since it's been a bumper 2 years for all of us, and we can always request help from Auntie Jenny Goh should we need to book them at Costa Sands, she got promo packages, I think.

I don't mind sacrificing time to organise a chalet, or even a small bbq for a matter. So, I'm in. I'm into and falling into the pit of waiting for the end of o levels.

Wake me up, when O Levels end.

Eh, nur dun add colours to this post. Getting stupidificated seeing all diff colours here there everywhere. Plain is essence of simplicity. Thanks.

Hi!

Hi ppl!

Here's an update on how much we have in the class fund. We are left with about $120 after buying the teacher's day gifts and some other stuff.

Anyway, since someone suggested having a class gathering after the o level, just wondering if u ppl are interested in organising one?

If yes, would u prefer chalet or just a bbq?

Anyone volunteer to be in charge of organising this?

Give ur opinions.. Thanks!

Btw, thank nicole and haikal for helping the class buy the teacher's day gifts if u haven't do so. Also, best of luck to everyone taking their higher chinese prelims tomorrow!

The Wednesday Post

Hmm yeah, good job on the rehearsal! Kinda funny though, but well, many areas still need to be polished up.

Besides that, don't forget to pay cash to Sha Sha for the class fund, J05 Maths papers and class photos.

Other than that, good luck for exams and have a nice day! =)

Yo Class..

Bought the Teacher's Day Cards already. Left with you people to sign it. There's a total of 9 cards to sign, 8 for most people. And we bought a microphone for Mr Yong, since he keeps on complaining that we should give him one.

Other than that... Put up a great Teacher's Day Performance for the school. :)

The Wednesday Post

Alright hello there, welcome to the first Wednesday post of the blog by ur friendly neighbouthood AIDS!!!

Anyway, since I took quite a few days to receieve my invitation, might as well give you people an overview of the comparison between Hotmail and Gmail.

Gmail -

Over 2000MB of storage space
No unnecessary spam - their filters are world class
Easy arrangement of Emails into folders
Relatively new so you probably can sign up with a rather common name
No Ads!

Hotmail -

2 MB of storage space (25MB if u sign up as a US citizen)
Ineffective spam protection - Important mails get chucked in the junk mail folders, spam mails get chucked in your inbox
Arrangement of emails into folders also rather easy
Been around for a long time hence you can't really choose your email name you want
Some ads at the sidebar

Oh yah, looks as if I'm a salesman for Gmail. Anyway I have 50 Gmail invites so whoever wants a Gmail account can come looking for me. Cheerioz!

Haikal added some colour to this entry ;)

Retaking...

Hey... This post concerns those who have not really done well for their 'O' Level Mother Tongue recently.

I spoke to PCL today. She says that those who wish not to retake the subject for the November Paper and have not achieved distinctions have to produce a written parents letter to the school by Monday informing both the school and your mother tongue teacher of your decision.

She also wishes to stress that she will respect any decision made and will not force upon anybody to retake or otherwise. However, she does advise that those who have not got their distinctions for mother tongue should take the second try, especially those who got a Distinction grade for their Oral because it gives you an edge over the other candidates.

By the way, for those who got a distinctions. Congrats~! You have contributed to the highest distinction percentage ever scored in CSS history or at least in recent years of decline. Continue to show your prowess. :)

Ever With the Best!

Announcement and Apologies

For the photographs being uploaded, I think I had chosen a rather unreliable image hosting provider, thus it had experienced quite a bit of downtime in the days it had be uploaded. I will transfer the photos to another more reliable image hosting service provider in the coming days. Sorry, people, for the wait.

Another announcement is regarding blogging, and not really the class. There is a scheduled maintainance for Blogger.com at 10th August, 6pm Pacific Time, which is GMT -08.00hours, while Singapore's is GMT +08.00hours. Thus Blogger will be down for an hour or so, on 12th August around 10am. Thus whoever is going to post on that day, beware of loss of data, but I think no one is going to blog that early anyway, unless you're in school using the computers.

That's all. Happy National Day School Holiday!

Sportslink

Hey sports peeps...

Sportslink is running a 40% discount for all items storewide in conjunction with Singapore 40th anniversary of independence. And there's a special offer going on at Jurong Point's Sportslink -- Buy any 2 Nike apparels below $40 each and you can get them a total for $40 only.

That's half-price!!! Get Nike now!!! However, it's rather limited stocks, and you have to resort to taking display sets, as what I had experienced just now with David, Kuan Hui and Thomas. Sad... But still worth it. :)

Prom Night

News and rumours that Mrs Yip had arranged prom night location to be at Fort Canning! Now how about that, a perfect venue. Note: Sarcasm is within this entry.

Anyway, that means the previous agreed location of prom night is surely cancelled. Who would want it in the school hall?

Announcement

Class, if you have a blog, and wished it to be linked, please send an email to me with your blog address, or juz tag at the board with your url too.

Pictures section is up. It is a temporary gallery until I dig my friend out of his hole, in order to brew up a more reliable and spacious image hosting gallery. For now, I've uploaded all the MacRitchie photos taken by Haikal, thanks Haikal.

The Page may look plain now, but whoever's interested in editing the HTML please let me know, I'll pass the password to you.

Re : Class Blog

For Class Blog, Administrative Powers will be given to all frequent bloggers. This will be the Current list of Admins.

Overall Admin : Kang Sheng (Don't mind if I do the honours of being God?)

Admins (Equal powers with kS) : Haikal, Nicole, Tse Ruey, Shasha

Pending Admins : Thomas

It's nothing personal if your name is not stated here, but what I feel is that a frequent blogger is a good admin. I'm not overall admin because I blogged the most, but because it's registered under my account and thus I hold responsibility of what is up here. If you think (or you are) a frequent blogger, please feel free to contact kS.

Updates : Counters up. Anyway want a Photo Section? An archive would come in at the end of the month. Music is seriously optional.
